Spain to digitalise cultural patrimony

Historical works from the Prado Museum, the Spanish Filmoteca and the Cerralabo Museum will be digitalised in 2003, the Spanish Ministry for Culture and Education announced recently. Spanish Minister for Education, Culture and Sport, Pilar del Castillo, recently signed an agreement to put in place the digitalisation, under a government-funded program entitled Patrimonio.es. The project is expected to cost some 200 million Euros, 100 million of which will be provided by the Spanish Ministry for Science and Technology. The Spanish Ministry for Culture and Education is expected to contribute to the cultural management of the program. For more information about the agreement in Spanish, CLICK HERE
