Screen Australia has announced the 12 recipients of the Production Crew Skills Training Fund, three recipients of the Transferable Skills & Returning Crew Training Fund and 12 host companies providing 14 placement opportunities for mid-career practitioners through BTL Next Step. These initiatives will share in over $1.7 million of Industry Development funding, providing training and skills development for more than 350 people.

The Melanesian Arts and Culture Festival has been running since 1998, and this year's event will mark the 7th edition of the festival. Hosted by the government of Vanuatu, in collaboration with the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Secretariat, the festival aims to promote regional cooperation and understanding by bringing together people from across Melanesian Spearhead Group member states and allied nations and territories. Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Isi Henry Leonard has urged cultural groups, arts and performing groups and festivals to register with the National Cultural Commission (NCC) to be recognised. Leonard said this during the launching of the 15th Sepik River Crocodile and Arts Festival in Port Moresby last week. He said each cultural groups will be given recognition, prominence and support once they are affiliated through the NCC.
This workshop promotes a culture of peace and intercultural coexistence, and involves the participation of young people in vulnerable situations, including those belonging to migrant populations.
