Through the project ReIShaping Cultural Policies for the Promotion of Fundamental Freedoms and the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, funded by Sweden, UNESCO supported 16 countries in reviewing regulatory frameworks and sector specific policies they have adopted in line with the UNESCO 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. The project provided technical assistance to the 16 participating Member States to elaborate their national quadrennial periodic report (QPR). They mobilized a wide range of stakeholders including civil society organizations and media professionals in consultations, data collection and awareness raising activities.
The Arts Council is pleased to publish Supporting Writing in Irish. This publication sets out the current policy and strategy for literature in the Irish language as it aligns with the key objectives and desired outcomes of Making Great Art Work. Together with its implementation plan, Supporting Writing in Irish outlines how – over the next three years – the Arts Council will work to increase the visibility of Irish language literature, and affirm its place as a central part of our literary and cultural lives.
The meeting was attended in person by the heads of the Arts Councils of Norway, Sweden, Finland, England and Scotland, the Cultural Foundations of Latvia and Estonia and the Joint Nordic Cultural Foundation, and representatives of the Arts Councils of Wales and Northern Ireland joined remotely. During the meeting, three main sessions were held. The first one talked about regional cooperation, presented the cases of Nordic and Baltic cultural funds, the second – reviewed the conditions for the creation of artists, analyzing Finnish and Scottish initiatives, discussing the situation in Sweden, Norway and Estonia, and the third – discussing the topics of environmental protection and green mobility.
The Creative Innovation Lab launched a new Call for 2023, which will incentivise players from different cultural and creative sectors, including audiovisual, to design and test innovative solutions for key challenges, with a potential positive long-term impact on multiple cultural and creative sectors. Deadline for applications is 20 April 2023.
Representantes de ocho países miembros de IberCultura Viva, además de Paraguay (país invitado en 2022), participaron en la última reunión del año del Consejo Intergubernamental. El objetivo fue dar a conocer informes, evaluar las iniciativas del Plan Operativo Anual (POA) ejecutadas durante 2022, y aprobar las actividades propuestas por la Unidad Técnica para el POA de 2023.
La Dirección de Asuntos Culturales de la Cancillería argentina lanza el programa Cultura argentina al mundo, una convocatoria que tiene como objetivo generar, desde una perspectiva democrática y federal, apoyo para artistas y profesionales de la cultura argentina, a través del otorgamiento de pasajes aéreos para que puedan concretar instancias de formación, promoción y circulación de sus obras en el exterior.
