Meeting in Singapore, 22-23 April, IFACCA's interim board approved not just the host of the 2003 World Summit but also the new staff exchange scheme (FLEx), the draft constitution, the board election process and the first round of affiliate members. The Board also met with arts agencies from across Asia and welcomed its new member, Fernando Vicario, an expert on Latin American arts and culture. See the media release for more details.

Federal Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, Senator Richard Alston, and the Federal Minister for the Arts and Sport, Senator Rod Kemp, announced today that they would recommend to the Governor-General that businessman and corporate adviser, David Gonski, be appointed to chair the Australia Council, following the sudden resignation of Dr Terry Cutler late last week.
Dr Terry Cutler has tendered his resignation from the chairship of the Australia Council, in order to focus his attention on emerging opportunities in the information technology field.
The Australia Council has announced the appointment of Lisa Colley as the new Executive Director of its Policy, Communications and Planning Division.
