The Arts Council has announced that it is offering funding of almost €10 million to 166 artists and arts organisations as part of its Arts Grant Funding (AGF) programme. The grants are for Artists’ Support; Arts Participation; Circus; Dance; Festivals & Events; Film; Literature; Music; Opera; Spectacle; Theatre; Traditional Arts; Venues; Visual Arts and Young People, Children, and Education.
The Wallace Foundation today released Navigating Uncertain Times: A Scenario Planning Toolkit for the Arts & Culture, a scenario planning toolkit developed by AEA Consulting to help arts and culture organizations approach planning for a future likely marked by increased uncertainty and complexity, including the far-reaching effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the response to the need for racial and social justice, climate change, emerging technologies, as well as circumstances still unforeseen.
On 30 July 2020, the Welsh Government announced £53 million for a Cultural Recovery Fund. £27.5m of that fund was earmarked for distribution by the Arts Council of Wales. In August 2020, applications opened for organisations, (including theatres and theatre companies, arts centres and galleries, choirs and brass bands) representing music, dance, theatre, literature, visual and applied arts, combined arts and digital art.
