The Center for the Visual Arts of the Metropolitan State College of Denver organizes and hosts exhibitions of regional, national and international significance by culturally diverse artists. The Center is devoted to expanding art awareness through education programs for the college and the community, and serves as a learning laboratory for research, study and practical work experiences for students. It is an art resource for teachers and students in the Denver Public Schools and provides hands-on art experiences for disadvantaged youth. The Director is responsible for overall staff and budget management, exhibit curation, PR/community outreach, as well as assisting with fundraising. The Director is also responsible for collaborating with the Chair of the College Art Department in creating synergies and opportunities for the students and faculty. A master''s degree in fine arts, museum administration or curation or related discipline is strongly preferred. Significant experience around the described responsibilities is required.
