The fourth issue of Bulawan: Journal of Philippine Arts and Culture is now available. Bulawan is a refereed journal on academic papers, essays, reviews, and interviews on Philippine arts and culture. It is a quarterly publication of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). Renowned critic and poet Prof. Virgilio S. Almario is editor-in-chief. Bulawan 4 contains articles by some of the country’s best critics and scholars. The roster of contributors includes Gémino H. Abad, Florentino H. Hornedo, Virgilio S. Almario, Michael M. Coroza, and Roberto T. Añonuevo. Bulawan 4 contains translations of the Kapampangan poetry of former President Diosdado Macapagal and the Filipino poetry of Mike Bigornia. Back issues are available at the same price. The journal may also be purchased at select bookstores in Metro Manila. Bulawan accepts original manuscripts devoted to scholarly discussions of issues, ideas, and other matters pertinent to Philippine culture. Contributed manuscripts that pass the standards set by Bulawan’s referees are published and the authors receive an honorarium from the NCCA. Established and emerging critics and scholars are encouraged to submit.
