Head of Communications and Marketing

Arts Council of England,
14 June 2002, United Kingdom

The Arts Council of England is looking for a dynamic and creative individual to drive all aspects of the communication and marketing strategies for the landmark Creative Partnerships program. Creative Partnerships is set to be one of the most significant culture and education programs in a generation. It is the largest single new project undertaken by the Arts Council since the advent of the National Lottery in 1994. Tens of thousands of young people will have the opportunity for unprecedented access to creative learning and the wealth of cultural experience in this country. Young people and their teachers will work directly with and experience the work of artists, cultural and creative organisations. Between April 2002 and March 2004, the Creative Partnerships programme will be piloted in 16 areas throughout England. It is hoped that the programme will expand beyond the 16 pilot areas from March 2004. You will have substantial senior level communications and marketing experience (at least 10 years'). You will be able to devise, implement and manage communication and marketing strategies, which will have major impacts nationally, regionally and locally - and to a variety of audiences, ranging from children to senior national politicians. The Head of Communications and Marketing for Creative Partnerships will fulfil a national strategic role for the Arts Council and will be part of the senior teams of both Creative Partnerships and the Communications Directorate. The ideal candidate is also likely to have an arts and/or education background and an understanding of the broader political issues of relevance to the arts and education. You will be based in the Creative Partnerships national team in London. This post is a full time fixed term contract to 31 October 2004 .
