A new initiative of the Australia Council (OzCo), reSAUCEful Media Relations; a professional development program for the arts, recently kicked off its national tour with courses in Tasmania. In association with State and Territory Government arts agencies, the program provides arts workers with the tools to take a fresh approach to publicity. As part of the events in Tasmania, reSAUCEful hosted a free Meet the Media event, in which arts workers were given insight into the practices of leading journalists, and how the arts sector can maximise opportunities to be profiled in the media. OzCo CEO, Jennifer Bott, has commented that the arts has great stories to tell. 'It is the Australia Council’s hope that reSAUCEful Media Relations and the Meet the Media events will enable the arts to share their stories with an even wider audience via the media.' Between now and November, OzCo will deliver 18 reSAUCEful Media Relations courses in cities and regional areas from Western Australia to Queensland.
