The National Arts Council (NAC) in Singapore is now accepting nominations for the 2003 Patron of the Arts Awards and Arts Supporter Awards. Established in 2000 to give recognition to companies and individuals which contribute to the Singapore arts scene, the awards aim to encourage new community members to come forward in support of the arts. The NAC believes that this will help to forge a closer link between the arts and the community. In holding the annual awards, the NAC hopes to draw attention to the Singapore-based individuals or organisations that have contributed a designated amount of financial assistance to Singapore's arts industry.
