The Canada-based International Network for Cultural Diversity (INCD) has made available the final version its Convention on Cultural Diversity. Taking into account discussions at INCD’s Cape Town conference held in October 2002, the new version includes additions such as a greatly expanded preamble explaining the reasons for wishing to establish an international instrument to protect cultural diversity. The revised document is now available online, and is also an important agenda item for cultural ministers attending the International Network on Cultural Policy (INCP) meeting in Paris later this week. Following these discussions, the document is expected to be passed to UNESCO Director-General Koïchiro Matsuura. The revised convention is available online at: www.incd.net/incden.html
