A cultural exchange agreement was signed by the Arts and Culture Council of Mexico and the Mexic-Arte museum of Austin, Texas, recently. The agreement is aimed at disseminating Mexican art in Texas, strengthening cultural and educational ties between Mexico and the United States, assisting the development of bilateral interchange and encouraging dialogue on the issue of cultural management. Signing the agreement at the Mexican Ministry of Culture (Conaculta), Conaculta President, Sari Bermudez, said the agreement recognised the importance of the protection, conservation and distribution of Mexican culture. ‘Our desire is to consolidate the presence of art in Mexico in Austin Texas, where currently more than 400 million people of Mexican origin live,’ he said.
