Interarts Founder Dies In Barcelona

Eduard Delgado, Director and Founder of the Interarts Foundation for International Cultural Cooperation died last week in Barcelona. Mr Delgado founded Interarts in 1995 as a European Observatory of Urban and Regional Cultural Policies. The Interarts Foundation is a not for profit body dedicated to the applied research of cultural policies and to the promotion of international cultural cooperation. Amongst its activities stand out the study on Cultural Cooperation in Europe for the European Commission in 2003, and the organisation of the Congress on Cultural Rights and Human Development in the framework of the Universal Forum of Cultures 2004. Delgado’s cultural legacy is also reflected in the creation of international cultural networks such as CIRCLE (Cultural Information and Research Centres Liaison in Europe), ENCATC (European Network of Cultural Administration Training Centres), and his presidency of the Forum of European Cultural Networks.
