The Spanish Ministry of Culture has approved funding support for the translation and publishing of Spanish literary or scientific works into other languages.
The support, totalling 420,710 euros, comes via the Spanish General Directorate for Books, Archives and Libraries and will be distributed across a total of 103 works.
In addition to French, Portuguese, English, Italian and German translations, the funds will support Arabic, Serb, Czech, Rumanian, Polish, Hindu, Japanese, Russian, Norwegian, Croatian, Hebrew and Turkish versions of Spanish texts.
Many standout classical and contemporary Spanish books are set for inclusion in the translation project.
