The Spanish Ministry for Culture has announced it will facilitate 2005 cultural grants from the European Union through its Cultural Contact Point. The European Union has published application information for its Culture Program grants for 2005. This round, the 6th since the program’s inception, has a budget of 28 million euros to fund European cultural activities in the areas of: cultural heritage, visual arts, performance arts, books, reading and translation. The grants are tailored for non-profit cultural projects, presented by European legal persons – public or private, whose principal activities are culturally based. The Spanish Ministry for Culture will give support to cultural operators in the region interested in accessing these grants, via its Cultural Contact Point (PCC). The PCC, established at the request of the General Director for Education and Culture of the European Commission, is designed as an information and advice dissemination point for individuals and organisations seeking to apply for Cultural Program funding. Applications for annual funding support will be accepted until the 15th of October 2004 (with a minimum of three countries participating), and until the 29th of October, 2004 for projects having a duration of more than a year, with a minimum of five participating countries.
