The National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (NIPAM) has announced that over 10 million Euros has been allocated to boost funding of music, poetry, dance, theatre and circus. Over 6 million Euros will be dedicated to programs of circulation, development, preservation and communication of theatrical and circus activities, with the remaining 4 million Euros being chanelled into music, poetry and dance. The theatre section includes, among other modalities, subsidies to projects that promote contemporary Spanish dramatic art, Spanish theatrical repertoire and theatre for children, as well as national and international tours, festivals and theatrical publications. The circus section establishes one program for dissemination and technical development and supporting tours and movable infrastructure, and another program for promotion through festivals, fairs or publications. Regarding the apportionment for music, poetry and dance, favour will be shown to projects whose purpose is to increase the stability of dance companies, fundamentally through programs of residence in theatres, and the circulation of choreographic spectacles. Assistance will also be given to music, song and dance production, tours, festivals or composition commissions. The assistance will be granted on a competition basis with the criteria established by INAEM.
