The Scottish Government has recently announced plans to establish a new cultural development body, Creative Scotland which will advise, support and invest in the arts, creative and screen industries across Scotland. The new body will see the amalgamation of the functions of two exsisting national agencies, the Scottish Arts Council and Scottish Screen. Legislation to establish the new body is expected in the spring of next year.
A Transition Director is sought who will lead and manage the project that will prepare for the creation of the new organisation. The project will include building the vision and recommending methods of operation that will best enable Creative Scotland to deliver its objectives. It is anticipated that the project will take between 9 and 12 months.
You will be able to demonstrate an impressive track record of sucessfully delivering change projects on a similar scale. You will require sound understanding of the arts, screen and all creative sectors and have knowledge and understanding of the public sector. You will have the imagination, drive and enthusiasm to lead and inspire confidence across the broadest range of stakeholders. The fee payable will be negotiable but is expected to be in the region of £80,000 over one year.
