Inspiration, Identity, Learning: The value of museums

Report on an independent evaluation by the University of Leicester of the national and regional museums partnership programme of education work in 2006-07. The report is part of an initiative to develop evidence based practice in the use of culture to achieve Regional Economic Strategy Objectives.

The research concludes that the programme as a whole has been highly successful with:

  • A strong emphasis on working towards social inclusion
  • Effective and deepening partnerships between the educational sector and the museum sector
  • Powerful learning outcomes for pupils
  • The potential for strong partnerships between museums and communities.
