Diane Dodd, IFACCA's European liaison officer, attended the European Capitals of Culture Meeting (ECCM) symposium entitled Productivity of Culture, held in Athens, Greece, on 18-20 October 2007.
Hosted by Mikitas Kaklamanis, Mayor of Athens and Spyros Mercouris, General Coordinator of Athens European Cultural Capital 1985, the meeting was aimed at advancing the international discussion on the role of culture in European cultural cities.
The meeting brought together around 40 delegates, many from cities that have been designated as European Cultural Cities by the European Commission.
The meeting also hosted the prestigious Kid’s Guernica exhibition and delegates met the children of Athens that had contributed to the exhibition. For more information about Kid’s Guernica click here.
