Creative Scotland Bill published

A bill to establish a new body to support Scottish arts and culture has been introduced to the Scottish Parliament.

The Creative Scotland Bill is a significant step towards the amalgamation of the Scottish Arts Council and Scottish Screen to form the cultural development body, Creative Scotland.

Commenting on the bill Jim Tough, Acting Chief Executive, Scottish Arts Council said ‘The Bill to introduce Creative Scotland is very welcome and ushers in an exciting future for our artists and arts organisations.  The Scottish Arts Council looks forward to contributing its knowledge and expertise to the foundations of the new organisation.’
