Centro Cultural Estación Mapocho,
24 September 2008, Argentina

Agenda and Topics

• Background

Ibero-American Cultural Map

Reaffirms that Ibero-America is a major system where unique and exceptional elements appear and that it possesses a common and diverse cultural heritage that must be promoted and protected.

It is necessary to strengthen regional structures for cooperation with the aim of creating better conditions for the inclusion of Ibero-America in the global scene. Within this frame of reference, affirmations, ideas and values established in this Cultural Map will be promoted as guidelines for the creation of an Ibero-American cultural space.

First International Meeting, Diverse and Alternative: Cultural Administration in Ibero-America. Quito’s Declaration. Convenio Andrés Bello (CAB)

Cultural administrators are going through a historical time that changes at a rapid speed; they are permanently forced to widen their dialogues and connections, to make consecutive synthesis of their experiences, to strengthen academic education and that given in other local and national institutions.

It is mandatory to strengthen and widen field research and case studies that analyse and balance out what has been accomplished throughout the region, both in cities and in rural areas, as well as in public, local and civil institutions.

• Organization:

Two working groups (plenary type). Each working group will have 5 speakers (15 minutes each) who will present the subjects. Each country is also allowed to have up to 10 participants.

The Chilean academics present at the meeting are responsible for cultural administration education programs at undergraduate and graduate level, registered by the Chilean National Arts Council.

Argentinean academics invited make part of the Forum Villa Ocampo of Educators in Cultural Administration that functions as part of this UNESCO house under the coordination of Jorge Cremonte: Dr. Rubens Bayardo (National University of San Martin), Dr. Diego Blázquez (Faculty of Economy, Córdoba), Architect Jorge Bozzano (CICOP), Lic.
