Fundacult’s Sixth Meeting: Cultural Actions of Ibero-American Financial Entities and Companies

Fundacult/Colombia’s National Bank (Banco de la República),
07 November 2008, Colombia

The cultural and artistic scene has been an excellent media to favour create a meeting point between partners. The cultural foundations of financial institutions, in their first meeting (May 1999, Mexico City), agreed to carry out an appropriate analysis of the role that financial institutions play in the cultural sector; shared experiences of previous and present activities; considered examining exchange and collaboration possibilities that could contribute to generate synergies in their actions and to increase the identity ties between Spanish speaking and Portuguese speaking countries. Moreover, as non-profit cultural and social institutions, these areas and foundations seek the same result: the promotion, diffusion and conservation of culture.

Fundacult is an instrument that helps the project Cultural Actions of Ibero-American Financial Entities and Companies to reach its real magnitude in the cultural dimension of our region. Furthermore, it is the first concrete result of the First Meeting that took place in Mexico, as an initiative of Cultural Banamex, A.C.

Colombia’s National Bank (Banco de la República) joins the interest of boosting Fundacult’s meetings by hosting Fundacult’s Sixth Meeting, that will take place at Luis Ángel Arango Library in Bogotá on November 5.7, 2008.

This meeting will deal with the subjects of:

    * Cultural indicators
    * Cultural processes marketing
    * Independence Bicentenaries
    * Financial Education
    * Ibero-American World (projects exchange)

Juan Luís Mejía Arango, former Minister of Culture of Colombia, will give a lecture entitled Cultural Policies in Latin America.
