The Independent Colombian Publishers Network –REIC– presented its official portal, where a complete catalogue of their publications will be exhibited and on-line sales will be made.

This new portal will allow the users to see in one place the catalogue of 28 independent Colombian publishers. www.reicolombia.com will also be a platform that will give more visibility to the Colombian publishing industry and that will create new business opportunities.

“To have a joint digital catalogue is a great achievement for these 28 associated publishers that, no doubt about it, will continue promoting ‘bibliodiversity’ and Colombian talent through this new commercialisation channel”, stated Álvaro Garzón, Coordinator of the Ministry of Culture’s Entrepreneurship Group.

Thanks to this new digital resource, the publishers will be able to know the sales’ detailed information and the clients will have access to publishers’ reviews and their publications, as well as to news and events of the Colombian publishing industry.

“Besides being a meeting place for independent publishers, the portal will solve one of the major issues faced by the industry, which is distribution. We will associate with the company ‘Pagos on-line’ (On-line payments) for on-line retail or wholesale sales”, affirmed Carolina Cortés, Executive Director of REIC.

With this new tool, REIC strengthens as an association and continues searching for independent publishers worldwide, as well as libraries and points of sale of independent publishers, nationally and internationally, interested in joining this project.
