International support for the World Summit

IFACCA,
16 July 2009, South Africa

IFACCA and the NAC of South Africa acknowledge, with great appreciation, the support of three member agencies:  Arts Council Norway, the Danish Arts Agency, and Arts Council Finland, which will enable greater participation in the Summit of delegates from developing countries.

Arts Council Norway was established in 1965 with three principal tasks:
• managing the Norwegian Culture Fund
• advising the central government and public sector on cultural affairs
• initiating experimental cultural activities in areas which the Council considers to be of particular interest

The Danish Arts Agency is an administrative unit under the auspices of the Danish Ministry of Culture. Among other things, the agency acts as secretariat for the Danish Arts Foundation and the Danish Arts Council and administers international cultural exchange in the visual arts, literature, music, and theatre as well as the presentation of Denmark as a cultural nation.

Arts Council Finland: The Arts Council institution in Finland promotes art, creates and develops art policies and conducts research in the field. It comprises the Central Arts Council and its subcommittees, the National Art Councils, separate committees, the State Art Collection Committee and the Regional Arts Councils.
