Cultural policy profile of Vietnam in development

IFACCA,
27 April 2012, Viet Nam

We are delighted to announce that Mr Bui Hoai Son, of the Vietnam Institute of Culture and Arts Studies, is currently preparing a cultural policy profile of Vietnam, as part of the WorldCP – the international database of cultural policies.

The Vietnam profile has the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Vietnam and is financially assisted by the Asia-Europe Foundation, which acts as the regional secretariat for WorldCP-Asia.

WorldCP will be a central, web-based and continuously updated database of country-specific profiles of policies that relate to culture. Modelled on the Council of Europe/ERICarts Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends in Europe, it will also provide the capacity to monitor and analyse global trends in key aspects of cultural policies. The WorldCP website (www.worldcp.org) was launched in October last year.

IFACCA is currently in discussions with organisations in all regions (Africa, Asia, the Pacific, the Americas and the Mediterranean) to develop a range national cultural policy profiles. A meeting of regional and international partners will be held in Helsinki, Finland in June 2012.
