The Salvadorean government have started a consultation to design a national cultural and arts policy with the participation of artists and intellectuals.

Granadino affirmed that meetings like this aim at gathering contributions and the necessary information to prepare a draft Culture Law for El Salvador.

She indicated that the Secretariat for Culture (Concultura) is committed to get to know artists and intellectuals, “which is their appraisal on how should be the Culture and Arts Law for El Salvador”.

Paniagua highlighted the importance of the consultation initiative began by Concultura. “With this forum, El Salvador is showing to Central America how cultural consultation takes place” by submitting to the community’s criteria a draft law on this matter.

Diana Hasbún, Director of Intellectual Property Register of the National Register Centre (CNR) declared that this Law must include the subject she is in charge of as part of the value chain.

During her intervention, she gave information on intellectual property protection measures designed by international companies.

Delegates of the National Register Center also gave advise to the attendants on intellectual property.

During the consultation’s first phase, the Investment and Promotion Agency of El Salvador (PROESA) also explained their efforts to promote and export the country’s art and culture.
