Cultural Policies in Africa: presentation at AU Congress

On 28 August, IFACCA’s Executive Director, Sarah Gardner, presented a paper at the African Union’s 3rd Pan-African Cultural Congress entitled .Cultural Policies in Africa: local action informed by global perspectives

The paper, which was informed by ‘Adapting the Wheel: Cultural Policies for Africa’ published by the Arterial Network in 2010, covers the following key themes:
• An outline of the development process for cultural policies
• Some current developments in Africa
• WorldCP – international database of cultural policies
• Case Study: Zimbabwe profile for WorldCP researched and written by Florence Mukanga
