Secretariat of Culture extends the period for proposals on National Culture Law

The Secretariat of Culture of the Presidency reminds the different sectors involved in artistic and cultural activities in the country that they can continue to submit their proposals and comments regarding the drafting of the National Culture Law undertaken by the Secretariat.

Director of International Relations and Cooperation, Alejo Campos, stated that at the request of the arts and culture sector, it was agreed to extend the period for receipt of comments until 30 October, 2012. "Meanwhile there is already a team of lawyers and specialists working with the inputs received, and we are in the process of systematization of information received to date," said the director.

In addition, there will be sectorial working groups "and the Secretariat will, in time, issue a communication to inform on the methodology used and the composition of the working groups”.
 
So far the proposals and written comments are being received at the offices of the Secretariat of Culture, and in the Culture Houses across the country.  In addition, these spaces are available for groups to conduct meetings in order to facilitate the consultative process of the aforementioned national law.
