IFACCA,
09 November 2012, Syria

IFACCA, with its partners, is pleased to announce Ettijahat Independent Culture led by its founding member Rana Yazaji, as the WorldCP editor for the Arab Region - supported by the European Cultural Foundation (ECF).

We are very pleased to welcome Ettijahat and Rana Yazaji to the WorldCP team. They are based in Damascus, Syria, and will be working with authors from the region in writing and updating national profiles of cultural policies for the WorldCP website. The role of the regional editor includes reviewing the profiles for accuracy and consistency of information, and organisation of information in accordance with the structure of the methodological ‘grid’ of WorldCP.

Ettijahat, as a regional editor, is contracted by Culture Resource (Al Mawred Al Thaqafy) to update and edit Cultural Policy profiles in collaboration with national cultural policy groups in a number of Arab countries that are working in the framework of Al Mawred's program to develop cultural policies in the Arab region. The program started in 2009 and is supported by  the European Cultural Foundation, Mimeta, Open Society Foundations and the British Council.

WorldCP is an international database of cultural policies. The website, www.worldcp.org, was launched in October 2011, and it currently holds profiles from Australia, Zimbabwe, and Europe (thanks to the Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends in Europe www.culturalpolicies.net). Further profiles from South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam and India are currently in development.
