The Funarte Arts Policy Meeting begins on 11 April in Aracaju (SE) at the Sergipana People’s Museum. Some new elements have been introduced in this third edition as it will be extended to the various capitals of five regions of the country. The states of Sergipe, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo will be the first to be included. The other regions in the North and Midwest, will host the meeting at a later stage.

The themes of this first meeting will be:  More Culture – micro projects, Rio São Francisco and theatre policies. Part of the agenda will be the micro projects awards ceremony on 11 April in Sergipe. The program is run by the Ministry of Culture / Funarte and is directed to promote cultural projects at low cost. The goal of the latest version, launched in 2011, was to encourage young artists and producers, residents in the region of São Francisco River Basin.

Held since 2011, Funarte Arts Policy Meeting is a cycle of meetings with participation of the society. It aims to promote reflection and contribute to the formulation and refinement of policies for the arts in national framework. This is done through dialogue between different actors: researchers, managers, artists, producers and organizers, in general, related to the different artistic languages.
The theme of the Third Meeting, "Dialogues, territories and circumstances" is based on the results of the debates in the previous editions. In the previous meetings, Funarte identified the need to expand increasingly the field of discussions and at the same time, increase networking and building new relationships. So in 2013, the meeting will be held in all regions of the country. Fundarte will partner with regional offices of the Ministry of Culture and Funarte, and with state and municipal cultural administrations. .

With this initiative the National Arts Foundation continues its policy of extended dialogue with the society. The meeting will bring together different profiles of people who, in a democratic manner, will make an important contribution for the development and improvement of national arts policy.
