Timor-Leste participates in 7th Meeting of the Ministers of Culture of CPLP

Between 2 and 3 April this year, the State Secretariat of Culture of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste participated in the 7th Meeting of the Ministers of Culture of CPLP, which took place in Luanda, Angola. In this meeting also participated high representatives of all CPLP member-countries (Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste).
The Timor-Leste delegation was composed of HE the State Secretary of Culture, Virgílio Simith; the Adviser for Cultural Heritage, Flávio Miranda; and the Adviser of the Cabinet of the State Secretariat of Culture, Dália Mesquita.

This meeting, organised by the Government of Angola, had as its main objective to continue the projects already initiated in previous meetings, at the same time allowing the discussion of new ideas towards the preservation and promotion of the rich and unique culture of each member-country. On the 3rd of April, the Ministers of participating countries signed a Declaration that contains the main issues discussed and approved by the focal points, who took part in a preparatory meeting during the previous day.
