Singapore is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its independence in 2015. Through the celebration of this milestone in our nation’s history, we hope to rally Singaporeans to reflect on and celebrate what Singapore has achieved and what being Singaporean means. Key to the celebrations is the principle of inclusivity – we hope that all Singaporeans will play an active role in the celebrations, from suggesting celebration ideas to developing them.

The Singapore50 (SG50) Steering Committee has been formed to guide and coordinate the plans for the celebrations. Chaired by Minister for Education Heng Swee Keat, it comprises representatives from the public, private and people sectors. The Steering Committee will be supported by five Committees. Mr Lawrence Wong, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information, will lead the Programme Office that will coordinate the work of the Committees.

Responsibilities

- Manage and coordinate a comprehensive inter-agency engagement plan and suite of programmes to help Singaporeans celebrate Singapore50 to deepen Singaporeans’ sense of identity and belonging to the nation.
- Provide secretariat support and be part of a team to formulate processes for the systematic coordination of the Singapore50 celebrations

Requirements

- A good degree
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in a strategic planning role
- Strong interest in international and national social, political and economic issues
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Good interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on teamwork
