IFACCA,
11 December 2014, England

Alan Davey, who has served on the board of IFACCA for six years and as Chairman for five of those years, will step down on 31 December as he leaves his position of CEO Arts Council England.

Mr Davey, who was elected Chair at the time of the World Summit in Johannesburg in 2009, led the organisation through two further World Summits, in Melbourne, Australia, and Santiago, Chile. He has chaired board meetings in Vancouver, Madrid, Havana, Hong Kong and Suva, and in 2012, hosted the board meeting in London. Mr Davey also played a key role in developing the agenda and role of the European Chapter of IFACCA which has gathered seven times since 2009 including meetings in Vilnius, Edinburgh, Madrid and Valletta.

In recent meetings, Mr Davey has driven the development of the new Strategic Plan for IFACCA for 2015-2018 and an announcement about this will be distributed to members shortly.

We would like to thank Mr Davey for all his years of service and commitment to IFACCA  and for his passionate and inspirational international advocacy for the arts and international networking.  At a recent Board teleconference, fellow board members expressed their immense appreciation for his leadership, dedication, inspiration, appreciation of cultural difference and tremendous generosity.

We wish Alan all the best for his new position as Controller at BBC3.
