ACORNS 352: International Culture Networks

IFACCA - International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies,
18 August 2016, International

If you would like to know more about International Culture Networks, then you’ve come to the right ACORNS! Today we released our new report D’Art 49: International Culture Networks, which includes introductory essays from theorists in the field, and presents the findings of sector discussions and our survey for THRIVE: Networking Culture Leaders. The report looks at the various ways in which cultural networks operate, including their resources, membership, funding, activities, purpose, challenges and potential solutions, and their vision for the future. We won’t spoil the ending, but we will say that more than 75 percent of respondents to the survey believe that the work of cultural networks is more relevant now than it has ever been.

There will be further opportunity to explore and discuss the important role of culture networks during the upcoming workshop, Emerging leaders: The role of networks in supporting the culture sector, developing new visions and informing decision makers, which will take place during the World Summit on Arts and Culture. During the workshop delegates will consider a range of issues, including how networks can promote change and provide alternative models of leadership. Find more information on how you can participate in discussions, the programme and Summit speakers at artsummit.org.
