Slovak Arts Council Press Release Bratislava, 15th May 2017

The state subsidy to the budget of the Slovak Arts Council will rise from € 15 million to € 20 million to support
projects in the field of arts, culture and creative industry, corresponding to 33,3 % increase. Representatives of the Slovak Arts Council will elaborate a new concept of support activities to be presented to the general public at the beginning of summer 2017.

The Council is independent of the national body and its main mission is the support of arts and culture with a special focus on diversity. It provides grants especially for creation, production, distribution and presentation of works of art; support of international cooperation and presentation of Slovak art abroad; educational programmes in the fields of art, culture and creative industry; grants for individuals who contribute to development of arts and culture in creative way or by research.
