Programme now available: Arts Summit of Southern Africa, Windhoek, Namibia 20-23 August 2018

We are pleased to release the programme for the upcoming Arts Summit of Southern Africa, which we will host in collaboration with Namibia’s National Arts Council and Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture. The Arts Summit will explore the theme of human creativity as a vital economic, social and cultural resource and features speakers including: Dr Sem Shikongo, Director of Tourism & Gaming, Ministry of Environment & Tourism (Namibia) on the creative economy and tourism; Avril Joffe, Head of Cultural Policy and Management Department, Wits School of Arts (South Africa) on the importance of the creative economy for national development and regional integration; John Davies, Research Fellow: Creative Industries at Nesta (United Kingdom) on environments that enable investment in the creative economy; and Florence Mukanga, Lecturer Arts & Culture Management University of Zimbabwe (Zimbabwe) on the need for evidence-based policy making for the creative industries.
