'Cine Europa' comes to Cebu

THE biggest film festival in the country kicked off in Cebu for the very first time. Cine Europa, now on its 21st year, decided to have the films screened in Cebu last Sept. 27 in Circa 1900, Alliance Francaise de Cebu and Ayala Center Cebu. EU Ambassador Franz Jessen said that the festival will nurture the bilateral relations between European Union and the Philippines. The films showcased the European cultural diversity in the Philippines. The film festival is organized in connection with the celebration of the European Year of Cultural Heritage in 2018. Twenty-eight movies from 16 European Union Member States (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom) as well as Norway were screened this year.
