Early Christmas present of National Treasures worth £27 million for the nation

The Arts Council is today (10 December) publishing its 2017/18 Cultural Gifts Scheme and Acceptance in Lieu Annual Report. It shows that in the last year, 42 cases worth £27 million were accepted for the nation under the government’s Cultural Gifts and Acceptance in Lieu schemes. Paintings, sculptures, ceramics, prints, drawings, papers and manuscripts have been accepted and allocated to public collections throughout the UK, including Tate, the British Museum, Pallant House, Ulster Museum, the Whitworth, Scottish National Galleries and many more, where they are available for everyone to engage with and enjoy.
