Report on diversity at the Paris Opera House

Opéra national de Paris,
08 February 2021, France

Introduction

On 25 May, the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis triggered a wave, unprecedented in its scale, of anti-racist demonstrations. Most of the major cultural institutions in the United States (opera houses, museums, theatres, etc.) and others in Europe then signalled their sympathy for the Black Lives Matter movement and pledged to reflect in depth on the forms of racial discrimination and racism that exist in the cultural world.
