“The Netherlands Collection is by definition never finished. Not only the Rembrandts and Van Goghs of the past, but also the top pieces of today and the future are worth protecting. ” This is what the independent Pechtold commission stated when presenting an advice at the request of Minister Van Engelshoven (OCW). The advisory committee, set up by the Council for Culture, investigated the extent to which current legislation complies and whether the designation criteria for the list of protected heritage are still adequate.
A press conference was held at the Ministry of Culture on Friday, September 13, 2019, at which Minister of Culture Dr. Sc. Nina Obuljen Koržinek and her associates presented "Recommendations for the implementation of energy efficiency measures in the building heritage" and the manifestation "European Heritage Days 2019" with the common theme "Arts and Entertainment: Heritage in the Spotlight".
The National Heritage Month 2019, kicked off with an activation on 2 September 2019 at the National Library of South Africa. An exhibition was held to showcase different literary classics books. This was done towards the activation and support of this year's theme.
