UNESCO invites professional research institutes, companies and entities to submit a proposal for data collection and analysis for the third edition of Re|Shaping Cultural Policies, UNESCO’s flagship publication on the state of contemporary cultural and creative sectors and global cultural governance. The report will be published in June 2021.
H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, has been briefed by representatives of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi,DCT Abu Dhabi, on the Culture achievements to date and planned milestones of Abu Dhabi’s five-year Culture Sector Strategy.
Unfolding technological developments pose a significant challenge in terms of the depth of economic and social transformation needed for their benefits to be fully realized and equitably distributed. Questions are emerging regarding the adequacy of our current economic policies and practices, the social contract between citizens, businesses and governments and the metrics used to assess socio-economic progress.
On 19 November 2019, UNESCO will host the Forum of Ministers of Culture, a major event to discuss the central place of culture in public policies around the world and its impact on sustainable development. More than 130 Ministers will be present to mark a high point during the 40th session of the General Conference of UNESCO (12-27 November 2019).
Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed said the ministry has made remarkable achievement. He said this while also revealing the plans of the Federal Government to launch National Policy on Culture, Tourism and finalise work on Motion Picture Council of Nigeria and others.
