Vancouver city's review of festivals, which and sets out a framework, number of policy objectives, definitions etc. for the city's support of festivals. The first of two reports prepared in response to Council's March 8, 2001 resolution that "Staff review existing policy and practice with respect to `civic' events, as well as annual and other special events, and report back with policy options and budget implications."
The report, prepared by the Office of Cultural Affairs, reviews the City's past and current role in developing and supporting festivals and celebrations, recommends policy directions and civic support strategies, and identifies the resources these strategies would require.
