Cultural competition for the Cayman Islands

IFACCA/Artshub,
03 January 2003, Cayman Islands

The Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF), in collaboration with the Quincentennial Celebrations Project (QCP), is presenting the 2003 Cayman Islands' National Playwriting Competition. The competition is open to playwrights of any age or experience, who are current inhabitants of the Cayman Islands. Scripts should reflect the Caymanian experience, and should be based on some episode in Caymanian history or reflect a singular aspect of the Caymanian way of life. While the deadline for registration in the competition has already passed, the January 15 deadline for script submission is also steadily approaching. The winning script will be given a full production by the CNCF/QCP in December 2003, for which the writer will be required to collaborate in close association with the production's director. The author of the winning play will also receive a cash prize to the value of CI$5,500 and the second place winner will receive CI$2,000.
