French Community in Belgium releases report on cultural centres
IFACCA/Artshub,
28 February 2003, Belgium
The French Community in Belgium has recently released the eighth edition of ‘Faites and Gestes’ (Facts and Motions), which outlines figures on French Community cultural centres.
‘Facts and Motions’ outlines a number of key socio-economic issues in the cultural centre sector.
These include the size of the sector’s global economy, the percentage of financing provided by the public sector and the French Community, and the number of jobs under control of the centres, compared to the number of jobs which have resulted from an employment program.
The document also notes that as the current survey was conducted using figures from 1999, change may have occurred, as a result of an increase in cultural centres from 85 in 1999 to 106 in 2003.
