New prizes for Belgian writers

Belgium's Minister for Arts and Humanities has announced the winners of three book prizes for the French Community at the Brussels Book Festival. In addition to the awarding of the triennial book prize, the minister has announced two new awards – the prize for a premiere work and a prize for the popularisation of humanities overseas. The winning works are: La dormition des amants by Jacqueline Harpman, which won the triennial prize for books; La vie de Mardochee de Lowenfels ecrite par lui-meme by Diane Meur, which took out the premiere work prize, and Dobal Flanell Friedman’s Belgian Francophone Library, which was awarded the prize for the popularisation of humanities overseas.
