Ministers to discuss Indian heritage and pensions for artists

Cultural Ministers of States and Union Territories in India will convene this week to discuss maintenance and visitor management issues at shrines and cultural sites around the country. The one day conference will also review cultural and heritage projects of national importance. Issues surrounding the Archaeological Survey of India, the improvement of local museums, Buddhist institutions and pensions to artists will be discussed. Also on the agenda are initiatives to preserve the cultural heritage of the Himalayas, and the State’s contributions to Zonal Cultural Centres.
