Fife Council has been awarded funding from the Scottish Arts Council (SAC) to appoint a Traditional Dance Development Officer to teach traditional dance in schools in the area. SAC Dance Officer Patricia Eckersley noted the importance of providing dance opportunities to youngsters to ensure the future of the artform in Scotland. ‘By supporting professional production and performance and bringing dance to children from an early age, there is a good future ahead for dance in Scotland,’ she said.
