A series of public forums to discuss the role of the arts in Scotland’s future will be held by the Scottish Arts Council in Dundee, Glasgow and Inverness this month. The public, artists and art organisations have been invited to take part in the forums to learn and comment about the past work of the Scottish Arts Council. The sessions will also look into the future direction of the arts in Scotland and the Arts Council’s role in moving suggestions and ideas forward. James Boyle, Chairman of the Scottish Arts Council, said: ‘I hope that the forums result in a lively, open discussion on the future of the arts and how this can contribute to the identity of Scotland in the future.’ Following a presentation by a member of Council and Director of the Scottish Arts Council, Graham Berry, the forums will include a question and answer session with senior policymakers from the Scottish Arts Council.
