The Australia Council has announced it will be offering assistance to 'export ready' dance companies wishing to attend the Association of Performing Arts Presenters' (APAP) Conference, held in New York from 21 - 24 January 2006. Attendance at the conference would represent an important profiling opportunity for companies ready to tour internationally. The APAP conference is North America's largest performing arts market. This year the Australia Council will again host its annual promotion Dance Down Under, featuring a select number of dance artists and companies with 'export-ready work and a demonstrated commitment to developing the US as a key target market.' In 2006 the Australia Council will also support a number of delegates wishing to attend the APAP conference. Dance companies and artists emerging on the US dance scene are able to apply for assistance through a new initiative, Waiting in the Wings. The deadline for receipt of submissions is 5 pm on Monday 5 September 2005. For further information, CLICK HERE
