Interarts has recently launched FORTE, an Internet portal describing practices in the field of education, culture and active citizenship of young people. The portal is one of the results of a project supported by the European Commission in the framework of Joint Actions (Leonardo, Socrates and Youth). Coordinated by the Interarts Foundation, the project brings together four pioneering partner organisations from Germany, Lithuania, Spain and the UK, which work with cultural tradition, experimentation and exchange to make learning attractive for young people and allow them to develop new skills and participate actively in society. Among several features, FORTE includes a database of good practices and invites users to provide other relevant examples in this field. A free, bimonthly newsletter will be distributed to subscribers. The FORTE project, which started in 2004, also plans to hold a conference on culture, education and active citizenship in Barcelona in June 2006. You can now visit the portal at www.forteproject.org.
